Video Love, Standard Hotel East Village rooftop

Since 2002, James June Schneider aka Ex Lamp (or Exciter Lamp) has been “vampling”, performing video, either solo, or within various group projects, including Video Love and AE (with Andrew Sharpley of plunderphonic pioneers Stock, Hausen and Walkman). The performances were originally under the name Matterlink (funtil a company literally threw shade on the name). The events consist of real-time video sampling and layering of video material. Differing from “VJ”ing, with vampling, the original sound (from the footage) is mixedd alongside the image simultaneously - a concert/cinema hybrid.
